LONDON: Czech car maker Škoda's UK-based team has officially announced the Karoq Velo Concept Car, a model designed to support cyclists on all their on- or off-road, summer or winter journeys.
In response to the growing number of cyclists in Britain, Škoda UK unveiled the Karoq Velo Concept Car equipped with a built-in washing machine, pressure washer, and drone station to keep riders fresh and their bikes clean after off-road trips.
Škoda UK describes the concept — which was designed by a group of biking enthusiasts — as "the ultimate support car for the cyclist who dreams of the perfect summer ride."
Over 1,500 active riders made suggestions for their perfect vehicle, and one of the most popular requests was to integrate a washing machine into the model; as a result, the model has a spin cycle washing machine in the trunk that uses the same water supply as an integrated pressure washer.
Additionally, the Karoq Velo Concept comes with a toolkit and "equipment to facilitate rapid puncture repairs." A built-in LED lighting system ensures that owners don't need to find a streetlight to complete their nighttime repairs.
Even when travelling with three passengers, the model can transport three bikes at once: two on the roof and one inside.
There's also a landing pad for a Follow Me drone, a drone capable of following cyclists and snapping shots of their rides. An integrated Wi-Fi hotspot allows for this content to be shared online as soon as a rider gets back to the car.
While the Karoq Velo Concept is not available for purchase, an accessory package that was inspired by the model is available for order from local Skoda retailers.
