MODENA: What do you get when you pair a Maserati with a chef?

You get a vehicle that's more than a mouthful to read out.

The Levante Trofeo Fuoriserie Edition for Massimo Bottura is Maserati's  calling card for the company's bespoke programme.

The SUV was presented on July 1 during the June 30-July 4 Motor Valley Fest 2021 here.

Maserati took the top-of-the-line Levante and gave it a splash of several colours both inside and out. The colours are featured on the interior inserts, the central console and the dashboard.

The splash of colours is supposed to signify an explosion of creativity. Taste being subjective, the loud colours will certainly not appeal to everyone. But it's a combination that Bottura approves of. He also happens to be the brand ambassador for the Trident company.

Like Maserati, Bottura hails from Italy’s Emilia region so that's one commonality between them. The colour splashes also allude to the fact that in his younger days, Chef Bottura enjoyed racing through the Emilian countryside in vintage cars with his older brothers. At the end of the day, the cars’ bodies were covered with splashes of mud, or “racing scars,” as the chef would call them.

In standard form, the Levante Trofeo has a V8 engine making 580hp.

The special Levante Trofeo belongs to the Maserati Fuoriserie bespoke programme, with its various alternatives allowing customers to have a Maserati tailored to their tastes.

To help customers find their way around the thousands of possible combinations, Maserati has created three basic collections as starting-points: Corse, Unica and Futura.

The programme offers a lavish set of content on the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante range. New external paints and liveries, wheel and brake caliper colours, are now available for order, as well as specific cabin combinations with different stitching colour schemes and interior layouts.

The MC20 supercar can also be customised, characterising the exterior with a rich selection of colours and paintworks. The Fuoriserie collections are to be enriched and renewed over time, and the programme also features the additional “Sartoria” level, for even more bespoke tailor made requirements.
