The 'X' in the XLion nomenclature represents an 'extreme' look for the TGS 33.480 6x4 prime mover that gets a 'lion' design on both sides of the cab.
This special edition prime mover uses a 12.4-litre D2676 inline-six turbo diesel engine that generates 480hp from 1,800 to 2,400rpm and 2,300Nm of torque from 1,200 to 2,000rpm.
Additionally, it also features a double cylinder air compressor and an air dryer with two granulated cartridges, a four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, hydraulic cab tilting mechanism, double-reduction rear axles and a self-contained battery-operated RTX 2000 Roof Top Air Conditioner.
Also fitted is an Aerodynamic Package which comes in all TG series vehicles (L and LX Cab) and comprises of a roof spoiler as well as side panels with dual adjustable side flaps.

Under the Mechanical and Electrical Package, the prime mover receives LED rear lights, daytime driving lights, Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system, idle shutdown and aluminium rims in the recommended equipment list.
Included in the MAN XLion aftersales service packages are the MAN ServiceContracts and the sector-specific MAN ProfiDrive training program.
The program can be conducted at any location and covers both practical driving skills as well as theoretical aspects of safety, economy and vehicle inspection.
A MAN ServiceContracts cover maintenance and repairs and the exclusive use of MAN Genuine Parts and MAN Genuine Parts Ecoline.
