The new moped, which is covered by a two-year warranty, will be available from May onwards at authorised SYM dealers and pricing starts with the standard variant at RM7,988 (Red or Blue), while the Special Edition (Matte Black) costs RM8,288. Prices are without GST and other fees.
The 124kg moped gets a seven-litre fuel tank that feeds the EURO 3-compliant single-cylinder motor with a single overhead cam, managed by a six-speed manual transmission with a wet clutch, to provide 17.7hp at 8,500rpm for the rear wheel.
Grip comes from its 90/80 (front) and 120/70 (rear) tubeless tyres that have been fitted to 17-inch wheels that gives it a 150mm ground clearance while having a 1,290mm wheelbase.
The chassis is suspended by a pair of conventional front telescopic forks with 80mm of travel, while the rear uses a non-adjustable oil-damped mono shock-absorber with 32mm of travel.
Braking comes from a single front 250mm disc brake and rear 200mm disc at the back.
In terms of equipment, it comes with LEDs for its day-time running lights, signal lamps and rear brake light, while a LCD speedometer and analogue engine-speed combination instrument cluster stares back at the rider.
