KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) the official distributor of the brand, is looking to reward three lucky customers who test-drive the newly launched locally-assembled Outlander 2.0 sport utility vehicle (SUV) with a brand new iPhone 8.

The test drive will be held at all Mitsubishi authorized dealers in the country from Oct 14 to 15 (Peninsular Malaysia) and Oct 21 to 22 (East Malaysia).

Also, the first 200 customers will be entitled to RM300 worth of petrol vouchers who book and register the locally-assembled SUV costing RM139,988 (on-the-road with GST without insurance) till the end of the year and comes furnished with a five-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.

Available colours include Red Metallic, Solar White and a new and exclusive Ruby Black that's only available in Malaysia.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre 4B11 engine producing 145PS and 196Nm of torque, and gets mated to an INVECS-III continuously variable transmission that manages power delivery to the Multi-Select four-wheel drive (4WD) system with three modes of 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock.

While riding on 18-inch wheels, it also comes fitted with LEDs for the front, rear and daytime running lights, as well as a reverse camera with guide lines, automatic wipers, keyless entry with push-start button, front and rear parking sensors, digital video recorder (dashcam) and security/solar film for all windows.

Entertainment comes from a 7.0-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system infused with Apple CarPlay and Air Gesture Control.

For safety there's seven airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability programme, brake assist, active stability & traction control, hill-start assist, rest reminder and lSOFIX child seat mounts as standard within its Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction.

The Outlander is being contract-assembled at Tan Chong Motors Assemblies' (TCMA) Segambut plant in Kuala Lumpur - the same plant as the ASX rolls out from since 2014, and has Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (Japan) personnel stationed at the local production line to oversee processes and quality control.
