BANGKOK: Turning heads at this year's Thailand International Motor Expo is the Mitsubishi Grand Tourer Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (GT-PHEV) concept that gets unveiled ahead of the show's official opening on Nov 30.

The GT-PHEV is the Japanese carmaker's next step in evolution for its Outlander sport utility vehicle (SUV) with a touch of up-market appeal.

Propulsion looks to come from a three-motor setup with a claimed electric range of 120km alone and a combined (electric and fuel) range of up to 1,200km for this SUV.

The carmaker also indicated that it will come with Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) - an all-wheel drive system that could have its torque distributed to the front or rear axle depending on the driving situation to provide better efficiency or dynamism.

The show opens to the public from Nov 30 to Dec 11 at Impact Arena, Muangthong Thani from 12pm to 10pm daily.
