PETALING JAYA: Rolls-Royce Motors Cars Kuala Lumpur officially launched the all-new Dawn, the four seater, super luxury drophead coupe in Malaysia with a starting price of RM4.0mil.

Aimed at younger and affluent customers, the Dawn is an evolution of Rolls-Royce’s design language with a clear objective of making a car that looks beautiful with its roof up as well as down.

“Through the years, we have seen the Rolls-Royce brand transform with a younger generation of entrepreneurs aspiring to own a Rolls-Royce. The Ghost and Wraith reset perceptions of what a modern Rolls-Royce should look like. We are proud to partner with Rolls-Royce as we embark on this new journey,” said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur managing director Datuk Michael Ong.

Also present at the launch was Rolls-Royce Motor Cars regional sales manager David Kim.

Greater attention has been paid to the Dawn’s roof which has a smooth and noiseless operation, described as the ‘Silent Ballet’ as the goal was to make the quietest convertible in the world.

The fabric roof takes just over 20 seconds to operate and can be engaged at up to cruising speeds of 50kph.

With the roof down, the sensuous lines of the Dawn are evident. From the side the steep rake of the windscreen, the swage line that flows over the rear haunches and the high beltline that rises along the profile give the impression of effortless dynamism.

The cabin features open-pore Canadel panelling tracing the horse-shoe shape of the rear cabin, while the wood on the deck, which can be customised, flows down the ‘Waterfall’ between the rear seats and around the cabin clothing the interior door panels.

The Rolls-Royce Dawn is available for viewing by invitation at Bangsar Shopping Centre from July 22 to 24, 11am to 8pm.
