Toyota quality hub opens in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: UMW Toyota Motor has set up a quality hub in Sabah to speed up delivery of cars to customers.

Located at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, the 3.5-hectare Sabah Integrated Quality Hub  started operations in November and conducts quality checks on all vehicles before they reach the customers.

UMW Toyota Motor said it has invested RM36 million to develop the Sabah hub. o stock up to 1,000 vehicles at one time.

Among the activities at the facility are; Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI), Centralised Stockyard, Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) and strict Final Quality Check (FQC) that enable UMW Toyota Motor to enhance delivery quality to meet customers’ expectations.

UMW Toyota Motor president Datuk Ismet Suki said Sabah was an important market for Toyota, with the state registering sales of over 10 per cent since 2011.

"With the new facility, we will be able to assure delivery of quality vehicles for our customers in Sabah, at the shortest possible time.”
