The Trevo Lighthouse Activation Center - located along Jalan Maarof, was the centre of attraction from July 29 to 30 (6.00pm to 9.00pm daily) as Socar CEO Leon Foong and Trevo general manager Susan Teoh served up burgers to inquisitive patrons.
The two-day event helped some 150 people learn about how the car-sharing app (available to download for free on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store) can benefit vehicle owners (Hosts) by connecting them to users (Guests).
This allows Guests to book a car that fits their mobility needs while helping Hosts earn some added income to help offset the cost associated with vehicle ownership.
“For Guests, having more mobility choices means more options in fulfilling their travel dreams with a wide selection of cars to meet their ad-hoc needs. While for Hosts, we offer the opportunity to earn extra income from their underused cars," said Teoh.
The general manager added that the app can help provide an extra path of income for individuals to finally afford their "dream" vehicle through its growing pool of over 50,000 users already signed up - contributing to the app's vehicular diversity and geographic reach for Guests.
Teoh added that the company has almost 1,000 cars available with models ranging from the Perodua Axia to the Myvi as well as other luxury brands that include Porsche and BMW among others.
For budding Guests and Hosts concerned about safety, the company assures with its Shield insurance coverage which safeguards both Hosts and Guests against damage and liability, while its sanitisation standard operating procedures (SOPs) help to ensure a cleaner and safer drive.
