PETALING JAYA: Fast Bikes, the exclusive official distributor of Triumph Motorcycles, has 'unboxed' five new modern classics for the year.

This starts with the new Street Twin (RM55,900) and is followed by the Street Scrambler (RM64,900), Scrambler 1200 XC (RM80,900), Scrambler 1200 XE (RM86,900) and the Speed Twin (RM73,900). Prices include a 10% sales and service tax.

The most contemporary model out of the British motorcycle brand's Bonneville lineup is the Street Twin that uses an uprated liquid-cooled eight-valve single-overhead-cam 900cc motor with an 11:1 compression ratio, ride-by-wire and a sequential electronic fuel injection system.

Triumph Speed Twin - 24 Storm Grey with Jet Black

Colour choices include Matt Ironstone, Korosi Red and Jet Black.

A five-speed manual gearbox with a wet multi-plate assist clutch manages the 65PS at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of torque at 3,800rpm and is trumpeted by twin upswept exhaust silencers for that unmistakable British Twin soundtrack.

All that gets fitted into a Tubular steel cradle frame with a 12.1-litre fuel tank and gets suspended by front non-adjustable 41mm forks with cartridge damping and 120mm travel as well as a rear pre-load adjustable KYB twin RSUs with 120mm wheel travel.

The 198kg (dry) bike with a 1,415mm wheelbase rolls on front 17 and rear 18-inch wheels and stopping power come from its front Brembo four-piston and rear Nissin two-piston callipers biting down on front 310mm and rear 255mm discs.

In terms of technology, the bike comes with new road and rain riding modes that adjust the throttle map and traction control settings for the optimum riding experience.

Also newly fitted as standard is the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and switchable traction control.

Triumph Street Scrambler -15 Fusion White

Moving on to the Street Scrambler, its 900cc motor provides for the same output as the Street Twin - providing an 18% increase over its predecessor and peak torque attained sooner at 3,200rpm, and is seen as one of company's most loved authentic modern classics.

Here, potential owners get three colour choices of Fusion White, Cranberry Red and Khaki Green with Matt Aluminium.

The Scrambler is similarly equipped compared to the Twin, only it differentiates itself with its Off-Road mode that allows its rider to turn the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control system completely off.

The range-topping Scrambler 1200 XC and XE with a higher level of off-road capability with its 1,200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor producing 90PS at 7,400rpm and 110Nm of torque at 3,950rpm and is released by a two-into-two exhaust system with brushed silencers.

The Scrambler 1200 XC is available in either Jet Black and Matt Black or Khaki Green and Brooklands Green while the XE comes in Fusion White and Brooklands Green or Cobalt Blue and Jet Black.

With a 121mm wheelbase, the six-speed manual gearbox with a wet multi-plate assist clutch takes care of power delivery to the rear.

With a unique Öhlins collaboration for the suspension department, both models now feature a new fully-adjustable twin-spring Öhlins rear suspension system with more than usual wheel travel and suspension capabilities.

The XC provides 200mm of wheel travel, while the XE has 250mm and both are equipped with piggy-back reservoirs.

For rider-focused technology, the Scrambler comes fitted as standard with second-generation TFT instruments and up to six riding modes that include Road, Rain, Off-Road, Off-Road Pro (XE only), Sport and Rider-configurable modes that allows adjustments to the throttle response, ABS and traction control settings.

The ‘Off-Road Pro’ mode found on the XE turns ABS and traction control off and uses the ‘Off-Road’ throttle map.

As a World’s first, these bikes come fitted with an integrated GoPro control system (viewable on the bike's instrument cluster) and a Google Turn-by-turn navigation system - both systems will require a Bluetooth connectivity module as an optional extra.

Exclusive to the XE variant, it alone possesses the added advantage of an optimised Cornering ABS system which maintains the optimum braking performance whatever the lean angle.

Also included is the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which was developed in partnership with German tyre-maker Continental, and works in conjunction with the Cornering ABS and Traction Control system.

Triumph Speed Twin - 24 Storm Grey with Jet Black

For those preferring something more comfortable, there is the Speed Twin roadster that sports a new light-weight chassis and suspension setup, cartridge front forks and twin rear suspension units with adjustable spring pre-load.

For colour, it comes in three colours of Silver Ice with Storm Grey, Korosi Red and Storm Grey with Jet Black.

Braking power comes from front twin Brembo four-piston axial callipers with twin discs, and a two-piston floating calliper and single disc for the rear.

The 1,200cc motor produces the most power here with 97PS at 6,750rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,9580RPM.

Also, the new Speed Twin features a full suite of rider-focused technology, that includes three selectable riding modes of Sport, Road and Rain, which includes traction control settings and a ride-by-wire system.
