KLIMS’18: UD Trucks previews Kuzer light-duty truck

KUALA LUMPUR: UD Trucks' new light duty truck Kuzer was previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow (KLIMS’18), which is being held till December 2 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

UD Trucks and its sole distributor partner, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) presented the all-new light duty truck, Kuzer, which was unveiled by Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) president and KLIMS’18 chairman Datuk Aishah Ahmad and Minister of Transport Anthony Loke.

Also present were Toshio Shiratori, product design director, UD Trucks; Tan Keng Meng, executive director, TCIE; Steve Hedouin, managing director - Malaysia and Oceania, UD Trucks and Wong King Yoon, director, TCIE.

Kuzer is the newest member of the UD Trucks range joining the popular heavy-duty Quester and the medium-duty Croner in the list of offerings by the leading Japanese truck manufacturer.

The new light duty truck is billed as delivering extra with its robust build and design, modern solutions and strong engine power.

The name ‘Kuzer’ is inspired by the Japanese onomatopoetic sound of wind, taking on the meaning ‘run as if flying swiftly against the wind’.

The Kuzer carries the UD Trucks’ heritage and design of the hexagon grille, a family look that can also be found on the Quester and Croner.

The Kuzer has the largest cab in its class, providing the driver a spacious and comfortable environment when driving or taking a short break.

The optimized engine, gear ratio and aerodynamic cab design of the Kuzer is said to give superior fuel efficiency, hence lowering cost and increasing profitability.
