UMW Toyota Motor sales jump by over 30% in March

SHAH ALAM: Malaysia’s top non-national automotive brand under UMW Toyota Motor has posted a strong upward trend for March, recording a total sale of 8,386 of Toyota and 101 of Lexus vehicles.

Numbers for the month of February were recorded at 6,432, while March sees sales at 8,487 or a growth of over 30%.

Month-on-month, sales achieved for Lexus in March is at 101 units, while for the previous month sales were at 66 units.

For year-to-date, total sales topped at 22,447 units and are expected to continue the momentum.

The company said the encouraging sales results were due to its ongoing March promotions offering soaring rewards to its customers including value added benefits worth RM4,000 for Toyota best-sellers such as Vios and Yaris.

It is also anticipating further boost in sales with upcoming new product launches later in the year.

UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran K said the company is constantly reviewing and adapting to the changing circumstances and uncertainties.

“Toyota has always been known for our proficiency in supply chain management and risk mitigation measures. Leveraging on these experiences, we are working closely with our suppliers and monitoring the developments closely to ensure minimal impact to our production and our customers,” he said.

Celebrations for the months of Ramadan and Syawal, with the theme, ‘Bersama Lebih Bermakna’, are underway with the launch of UMW Toyota Motor’s Pandu Uji dan Menang Duit Raya contest from now until May 1.

Toyota enthusiasts are encouraged to drop by any Toyota showroom and test drive any Toyota model for some ‘duit raya’.

Each test drive is a contest entry to win ‘duit raya’ worth RM100 while a test drive and successful booking stands a chance to receive RM200 ‘duit raya’.

A total of 30 winners will be selected to receive ‘duit raya’ weekly.

In addition, Toyota will continue its ‘Bersama Lebih Bermakna’ celebrations at the Ramadan Weekender on April 16 and 17 at all Toyota outlets nationwide.

Toyota customers can indulge in great ‘bulan puasa’ deals and value added offers at any Toyota showroom throughout Malaysia.

Visitors who test drive Toyota vehicles will receive exclusive gifts (while stock lasts).

Meanwhile, UMW Toyota Motor has launched a new 3S centre in Cyberjaya to offer better services to customers in the area.

Operated by Otomobil Sejahtera Sdn Bhd, the centre will have complete facilities consisting of sales, services along with spare parts.
