Updated 2015 Toyota Hiace offers more safety

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2015 Toyota Hiace has received upgrades which improve safety.

The new Active Safety features that are now standard in the Hiace window van are Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist Control and an Emergency Stop Signal.

The Hiace panel van variant has also been upgraded with Anti-Lock Braking or ABS, and Brake Assist.

Other safety features for the Hiace window van and panel van include dual SRS airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all 10 occupants in the window van.

Reverse sensors are also standard, and the body structure is GOA (Global Outstanding Assessment) certified.

GOA is a tough in-house safety standard that meets or exceeds international requirements.

The Hiace has two choices of powertrains, namely the 2.7-litre 16-valve DOHC petrol engine with VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing – intelligent), and the D-4D 2.5-litre DOHC commonrail turbodiesel engine.

Optional accessories include Toyota premium security and solar film, Toyota essential or Toyota standard solar film, and a portable tyre pump.

The Hiace comes with a three-year/100,000km (whichever occurs earlier) warranty.

On the road prices are RM109,600 (high roof window van 2.5-litre turbo diesel), and RM102,600 (high roof window van 2.7-litre petrol) and RM87,600 (company commercial only - panel van 2.5-litre turbo diesel).
