WELLINGTON: Honda New Zealand has announced that a refreshed Odyssey is heading to their neck of the woods and it'll be equipped with the Japanese carmaker's Honda Sensing driver-assist technology.

The popular Japanese people-mover for New Zealand comes in two variants, namely the entry-level S and the range-topping LS, which is being priced at NZD$45,900 (RM131,385) and NZD$53,900 (RM154,285) respectively.

While the Odyssey is scheduled to arrive in New Zealand's Honda dealerships by the end of January, the Malaysian market will be receiving it on Feb 6.

The updated Odyssey range for New Zealand boasts a number of changes to its list of standard equipment which includes the exterior, interior and improvements to Noise, Vibration and Harshness.

The latest driver-assist technology from Honda will be included in the LS variant and includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS).

Visually, the S variant gets an ‘aero’ front fascia that was previously reserved for the previous range-topping L, along with chrome surrounds for the new front fog lights.

Meanwhile the LS variant gets fitted with the company's ‘solid wing face’ design, with a new premium aero package that includes a new bumper and aero forms, LED fog lights and a dark chrome finish on upper and lower grilles.

The same dark chrome finish has also been applied to the door handles, while a newly designed two-tone 17-inch wheels and revisions to the rear fascia, badge and tailgate sets apart from its predecessor.

Inside the LS, the second row captain’s chairs are now fitted with larger, headrests and additional seat-mounted storage compartments, while the driver will notice new trims on the instrument panel and doors, new engine start/stop button and electric door mirrors that automatically retract when locking the vehicle.

For the New Zealand market, two new paint options have been introduced for both variants, namely Cobalt Blue Pearlescent and Platinum White Pearlescent, which replaces the Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearlescent respectively.

"The addition of Honda Sensing on the new Odyssey LS represents another step in our plan to introduce the full suite of intelligent driver-assist features and active safety technologies right across the Honda vehicle range over the next few years,” said Honda New Zealand general manager of marketing Nadine Bell.

For New Zealanders, the refreshed Odyssey comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and complimentary roadside assistance.
