KUALA LUMPUR: The Volvo S60 T6 is now priced RM42,000 lower to RM238,888 as it has been given Energy-Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status and eligible for government incentives.

This is the third Volvo model to be declared an EEV. Last month, Volvo Car Malaysia also dropped prices on the XC60 T6, XC 60 T5 and V40 T5 Drive-E.

Like the XC60 and V40, the S60 is equipped with the Drive-E powertrain, which promises increased performance without sacrificing fuel consumption or increasing harmful emissions. The S60 T6 delivers one of the best in-class performance, doing the century sprint in only 5.9 seconds. This is achieved by using a super- and turbocharger combination which results in a big, naturally-aspirated feel with high amounts of torque available across a wider range.

The T6 engine equipped on the S60 outputs a maximum 306hp at 5,600rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm between 2,100 and 4,800 rpm. The power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission with two overdrive gears that conserves fuel when cruising at constant speeds.
The combination of these technologies help the S60 T6 deliver only 6.7 litre/100 km (NEDC combined cycle) in terms of fuel consumption. This means that the current T6 engine produces more power, uses less fuel and produces lower emissions than the previous engine.
