Available in three variants of T5, T8 Twin Engine Inscription and T8 Twin Engine Inscription Plus, the vehicles are priced on-the-road without insurance at RM373,888, RM399,888 and RM409,888 respectively.
Reprising its award-winning styling, the XC90 which herald in Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform in 2015, now gets a revised grille, new wheels and fresh exterior colours.
The new grille with inward curled vertical slats, low bumper design and the iconic Thor’s Hammer LED headlights, work together to enhance the XC90's powerful presence and persona.
Powering the T5 is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 254hp and 350Nm of torque, enabling a satisfying 0-100kph sprint of 7.9 seconds and a fuel consumption of 7.9 litres per 100km.
The T8 plug-in hybrid line-up, meanwhile, reprises the 2.0-litre turbo and supercharged engine combined with an electric rear axle drive (ERAD) for a total system output of 407hp and 640Nm of torque, delivering a quick 0-100kph dash of 5.6 seconds and an outstanding fuel consumption of 2.6 litres per 100km.
The lithium-ion hybrid battery capacity of the T8 line-up has been increased to 11.6kWh from 10.4kWh previously to enable pure electric driving up to 50km.
This improvement in zero emissions driving range also goes well with Volvo's ambitious electrification and eco-friendly motoring strategy.
The interior of the T5 comes with leather upholstery for a premium feel, while the T8 gets Nappa leather that provides the driver and passengers with a sanctuary feel and a first class experience.
Nevertheless, the T5 sees the inclusion of third-row air conditioning with C-Pillar vents, road sign information system (RSI) as well as 4-zone electronic climate control with cooled glove box which were previously available only to the T8.
The T8 now gets a redesigned Orrefors crystal gearshifter knob for more upmarket feel.
While the T5 comes with a Touring Chassis set-up that offers a mix of sportiness and comfortable ride, the T8 gets an Active Chassis with 4-corner air suspension system that delivers an even more luxurious feel.

The Oncoming Lane Mitigation system first introduced on the XC60 is now available on XC90, while the Cross Traffic Alert technology is now equipped with Autobrake.

The top-of-the-line T8 Inscription Plus gets the Bowers & Wilkins Premium Sound Audio System with 19 speakers and 1,400w output, while the T8 Inscription and T5 come with the High Performance Audio System with 10 speakers and 330w output.
The XC90 is available in Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue Metallic, Onyx Black Metallic, Pebble Grey Metallic and Thunder Grey Metallic.
