FRANKFURT: Volkswagen will knock 5,000 euros (RM25,311) off the price of new Golf model cars for buyers trading in an older diesel model, German daily Bild reported on its website, citing no sources.
It said the offer applied to any brand, as long as the new car being bought was a VW.
Volkswagen had said last week it would offer incentives to drivers of older diesel models, but it had not yet said how much it would offer for trade-ins.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen's sportscar maker Porsche is offering trade-in incentives of 5,000 euros for older diesels
Its other brand, Audi, will offer trade-in incentives of 3,000 euros to 10,000 euros (RM50,633) when buying new Euro6 diesel vehicles.
Audi said trade-in incentives would be higher for buyers of plug-in hybrid models or natural gas vehicles.
