DETROIT: Ford is offering a sneak peek of the Bronco Raptor that will launch in 2022.
Expect it to have a beefier V6 engine and upgraded suspension to handle everything that an offroad challenge can throw at it.
A set of 37-inch tyres could be part of the standard equipment.
At the very least, the Bronco Raptor will have 400hp. That would mean Ford would use the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 of the Explorer ST.
But then, Ford may want to heat things up with an even meaner Raptor, in which case it could switch up to the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 in the F-150 Raptor for a more satisfying 450hp.
Other speculative details being floated are that this new Raptor could get a 10-speed automatic gearbox with selectable drive modes and an advanced all-wheel-drive system.
As for the price, it will certainly be north of the Bronco First Edition's which starts at US$60,800 (RM255,000).
