WATCH: Takeaways on CKD Proton X70

By CARSIFU | 17 February 2020

PETALING JAYA: The newly launched X70 is now locally assembled at Proton's Tanjung Malim plant.

The latest X70 arrives a little over a year after the fully imported model was shipped in from China.

Not only is the Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) model priced lower, its features and amenities have been upgraded to make it even more attractive to buyers.

The price-feature combo was also designed to keep Proton competitors at bay notably Honda, Mazda and Subaru.

The X70 is now retailed at RM94,800 (Standard); RM106,800 (Executive); RM119,800 (Premium) and RM122,800 (Premium X). This makes the CKD X70 cheaper by RM1,000 to RM5,000, depending on the variant. The lower price tags are due to tax breaks the 1.8-litre turbocharged five-seater SUV gets as a result of being locally assembled.

CarSifu writers Jay Wong and Rizal Johan meet up to tell you more about the winning Proton proposition.
