WATCH: When Polestar and Koenigsegg bosses plus their designers hang out

PETALING JAYA: Two exciting car brands. Four guys. Somewhere in Sweden.

These were the ingredients that made for this refreshing video.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, its design chief Maximilian Missoni, Koenigsegg CEO Christian von Koenigsegg and its chief designer Sasha Selipanov got together recently to talk about their most recent models and a host of other topics.

Being car guys, they of course drove their latest products to the rendezvous point, which looked like a remote warehouse somewhere on the Old Continent. Polestar is headquartered in Gothenburg, 193km north of Angelholm where Koenigsegg is based. Both CEOs agreed to meet somewhere in between.

Koenigsegg came to the pow-wow with the 1,700hp 4-seat Gemera hybrid supercar while Ingenlath of Polestar — the all-electric performance unit of Volvo Cars — drove the Precept concept. The electric concept, described by Ingenlath as symbolising Scandinavian minimalism, will be the working base for the Polestar 3 SUV that's due out in 2021.

The idea of meeting up in a super casual way took shape when the 2020 Geneva Motor Show was cancelled in March as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

One day, the CEOs of both companies struck up a conversation and expressed a desire of seeing the latest of each other's cars that did not make it to Geneva. Both cars have since made their respective online premieres following the cancellation of the auto show.

Well, let us not spoil the fun for you.

Settle in and watch the video.
