PETALING JAYA: Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar proved that one is never too old for toys that relive childhood memories after he was gifted a replica of a car straight out of the classic animated series The Flintsones on Monday (Jan 15).

Inspired by Hanna-Barbera's popular 1960s cartoon, the iconic “foot mobile” driven by the series' main character Fred Flintstone, was a gift from Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to the Johor ruler.

Sultan Ibrahim posted photos of the open-top car on his Facebook page.

The car comes complete with a wood-like finish on the body and even “stone” wheel coverings.

However, unlike in the cartoon, this version of Fred Flintstone's family car comes with an engine so the driver and passengers will not have to rely on their feet to propel the “prehistoric” vehicle forward.

The Flintstones is Sultan Ibrahim's favourite cartoon, and Fred Flintstone is his favourite character, according to the palace.

It was presented to His Royal Highness by the Pahang Crown Prince's official representative, Datuk Manjit Abdullah, at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Baru.
