YouTube releases most viewed 360 ads of 2016 so far

SAN FRANCISCO: YouTube has released a list of the most popular ads that use 360 video with Gigi Hadid's collaboration with BMW taking the top spot.

The commercial "Eyes on Gigi Hadid" employs the tried-and-true marketing strategy of putting a beautiful young model beside its cars and engages the viewer to toggle left, right, backwards and forwards in the 360 video that features five speeding BMWs.

The video has racked up more than 5.27 million views since being uploaded April 18.

YouTube's 360 videos offer virtual reality experiences that allows viewers to watch videos from different angles.

The list of top ads represents the top viewed videos of 2016 so far and collectively represents 20 million views.



Brands represented include food, car and sports brands.

Here are the top 10 YouTube Ads Leaderboard: 360 Special Edition, which was unveiled at the international ad festival in France, Cannes Lions:
