TOKYO: The Mitsubishi eK Space, billed as a super height wagon minicar, is set to be launched in Japan in early 2014.

Images of the eK Space and the eK Space Custom were revealed recently by Mitsubishi Motors Corp (MMC).

The eK Space will be exhibited at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013, from November 20 through December 1.

It is the second passenger minicar model planned and developed by the MMC and Nissan Motor Co Ltd joint venture (called NMKV Co Ltd), following the eK Wagon and eK Custom models which were launched in Japan in June of this year.

Mitsubishi says the eK Space was developed using an "enjoyable, spacious, satisfying" concept.

Comfort and convenience features include a rear circulator which cycles the air throughout the cabin to provide a comfortable interior atmosphere for the rear occupants, a touch-operated electric sliding rear door, UV-reducing glass that shuts out 99% of UV light, and touch panel-operated air conditioning.
