A possible mechanical fault

Q1: I am the second owner of a 2009 Ford Focus 2.0 petrol car. The mileage is only 38,000km. Recently, the dashboard indicator showed a “transmission malfunction”.

A change of transmission oil and battery didn't help. The diagnostic computer indicate a "P7034 problem".

What should I do to get the car back on the road and how much will it cost?

The error code means gear 4 incorrect ratio. This could be a mechanical problem with the gears or an electrical flaw in the speed sensors or control unit . Your transmission must be diagnosed properly to pinpoint the problem

Q2: I have a 2004 Toyota Camry 2.0E. Most of the time, the indicator light does not turn off after the door remote control is triggered to arm/disarm the alarm.

Several exasperating attempts are needed before it can finally be turned off. What can be done to repair it instead of replacing the car alarm unit?

If it doesn’t have problem when operated by the turn signal switch then most probably the

problem lies in the alarm control unit.

It means there is a problem in the internal circuit  specifically on the switch element in the control unit.

It cannot be repaired. You have replace it if it's faulty.

Q3: When driving my 1997 Renault Megane 1.6 lately, the rev counter becomes erratic and the engine dies for a few seconds.

The engine cuts out completely occasionally when slowing down or coming to a standstill.

I suspect a sensor problem. Can you narrow it down for me?

It is the crankshaft position sensor that gives the data of engine speed (RPM- in the rev counter) and this sensor, if faulty, will cause the engine to stall or cut out completely.

The problem could be in the electrical circuit of this sensor or the sensor itself.

If this sensor is located in the front side of engine and susceptible to oil leakage, it can accumulate dust and dirt that will sometimes hinder the sensing signal efficiency of the sensor.
