Driver rams car into petrol station’s convenience store

PETALING JAYA: A 61-year-old woman escaped unhurt when the vehicle she was travelling in rammed into the convenience store of a petrol station in Jalan PJU 1A/20 Tuesday morning.

The driver had just refuelled her Proton Wira at about 9.30am when she crashed her car into the mart.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said investigations revealed that the woman had intended to reverse her car.

“But she accidentally put the car in drive,” ACP Azmi said.

He added that no one was injured in the incident.

The incident was similar to another on Jan 18 where a 70-year-old man sent his car hurtling into a bank.

The retiree had also thought his Perodua Kelisa was in reverse gear when he caused the crash at CIMB bank in Damansara Uptown here.
