TAIPING: Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Perak's largest tyre manufacturer, is now exporting 90% of its production with the rest for domestic use.
President and managing director Mike Toh Poh Keong said most of the tyres produced by the company are used in vehicles produced by companies as Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda and Isuzu.
"The factory here produces about 350,000 tyres of various sizes monthly and about four million annually," he said after a publicity event on the "Green of Charity" project at the Kamunting Raya Industrial Area in Kamunting near here.
Toyo Tyre Malaysia was established in Taiping in April 2011.
It began operations on May 8, 2013 at the RM800 million factory at the Kamunting Raya Industrial Area and spans 355.2 hectares. The factory produced tyres for various vehicle types such as passenger cars, SUVs and MPVs.
