2027 Subaru Getaway: Up to 483km, 420hp, AWD, 95.8-kWh li-ion battery

NEW YORK: The all-electric 2027 Subaru Getaway was recently unveiled at the 2026 New York International Auto Show.

The most powerful production Subaru, the all-new Getaway offers Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD), range of more than 300 miles (483km), and 420hp from electric motors on the front and rear axles.

There is also X-Mode Dual-Mode System with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud Modes, Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control for capability off-road.

The fourth electric vehicle in Subaru’s growing EV (electric vehicle) portfolio, the 2027 Getaway will arrive at United States' retailers in late 2026.

The name Getaway highlights the SUV’s family-friendly versatility and utility with 8.3 inches (21cm) of ground clearance, and generous interior cargo capacity.

The Getaway offers seating for up to seven with a second-row bench seat, or up to six with standard captain’s chairs in the second row, depending on trim level.

Every Getaway is equipped with one-touch, second-row folding seats for easy access to the third row and a power-folding third row for more cargo capacity when needed.

The Getaway will be powered by a high-capacity, long-range 95.8-kWh lithium-ion battery.

Charging speeds up to 150kW can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% as quickly as 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, in 2027, the Getaway will offer a standard-range model with a 77.0-kWh lithium-ion battery.

Inside, the Getaway offers family-friendly features including cup and bottle holders for every seat, three-zone climate control, dedicated third-row vents, customisable ambient lighting, USB-C charging ports in every row, an available panoramic moonroof, and more.

The 2027 Getaway features Subaru’s unique lighting signature up front, including a six-star illuminated logo on all trim levels, dynamic daytime running lights, and front headlamps with dedicated washers.

Daytime running lights also conveniently indicate charging status when connected to a charger.

Robust ladder-type roof rails are standard on most trim levels of the Subaru Getaway, offering more cargo storage options for long adventures.

Clean bodylines and flush door handles offer a contemporary look with added aerodynamic efficiency.

Expressive 19- and 20-inch wheels are standard on the Getaway, depending on trim level.

Inside, the Getaway offers a standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Two wireless 15W smartphone chargers are available for the driver and front-seat passenger, in addition to four USB-C charging ports for rear-seat passengers.

Every Getaway is equipped with a suite of EyeSight driver-assistance technologies, including Pre-Collision Braking, Blind Spot Monitors, Lane Departure Alert, Emergency Stop Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Certain trim levels also include Front Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Park Assist, digital rearview mirror, and more.
