KUALA LUMPUR: Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd has launched its Allianz Electric Vehicle (EV) EcoMiles benefit programme, which rewards low-mileage battery electric vehicle (BEV) drivers with cash benefits.
Policyholders who insure their BEVs under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy for private use can enjoy cash rewards of up to 15% of their insurance premiums by activating the Allianz EV EcoMiles benefit via the MyAllianz app at no extra cost.
"With Allianz EV EcoMiles, we are supporting our customers' green initiatives and rewarding them for their sustainable choices," said Allianz General CEO Sean Wang.
“Driving a BEV is already one step towards reducing carbon emissions. Now, whether you’re a remote worker or a weekend-only driver, Allianz EV EcoMiles rewards you even further.”
“By offering tangible rewards for low mileage and BEV usage, we aim to empower our customers to make sustainable choices that benefit them as well as the environment," Sean added.
Under the Allianz EV EcoMiles reward tiers, Tier One customers with an annual average mileage of up to 10,000km will receive a cash reward of 15% of their net basic premium (basic premium after deduction of the No Claim Discount (NCD).
Meanwhile, Tier Two customers with an annual average mileage between 10,001 and 15,000km will receive a cash reward of 10% of their net basic premium (basic premium after deduction of the NCD).
To receive the cash reward, policyholders must activate Allianz EV EcoMiles in the MyAllianz mobile app within 30 days of the policy's effective date.
Following this, they are to submit their odometer reading and vehicle photos in the app within 14 days before or after the policy expiry date.
Once the submission is approved, the cash reward will be credited to the policyholder’s account.
For a limited time, Allianz General is also offering complimentary RM100 EV charging credits to customers who insure their BEVs under an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy between Sept 29 to Oct 31, 2025, successfully activate the Allianz EV EcoMiles benefit within 30 days of their policy effective date, and provide a valid email address and phone number during the purchase process.
They will then receive a redemption code for the complimentary charging credit via email and the code can be redeemed via the ChargEV app by Yinson Greentech.
