Hyundai Motor Malaysia and EON Bhd to develop new dealerships

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) and Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd (EON) will jointly develop two new Hyundai dealerships in the Klang Valley and Penang, both slated for opening in the first half of 2026.

Both companies recently signed a letter of intent (LOI), which is aimed at expanding Hyundai’s retail footprint across Malaysia.

The agreement signifies Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to the Malaysian market, reinforcing its long-term commitment.

Klang Valley and Penang were chosen for the new dealerships based on strong market potential, rising customer interest, and increasing hybrid adoption trends.

The new outlets will also support Hyundai’s plan to enhance customer trust by bringing sales, service, and aftersales capabilities closer to key population centres.

Over the next several years, Hyundai aims to strengthen its ecosystem through expanded dealership coverage and elevated service standards.

“We are grateful to EON for joining us on this journey, as their established reputation and nationwide presence make them an invaluable partner. By working together, we are combining global innovation with local expertise to bring customers greater accessibility, service excellence, and a retail network that can grow sustainably,” said Hyundai Motor Malaysia managing director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen.

“This collaboration reflects EON’s continuous pursuit for new opportunities to shape Malaysia’s mobility future. And in line with our guiding principle ‘Passion Drives Possibilities’, we look forward to having Hyundai as one of our brands to enable us to deliver even greater value to our customers,” said EON Bhd CEO Akkbar Danial.
