PETALING JAYA: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launched the new CLE 300 4Matic Coupé.
It is priced at RM518,888 (on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of 10% SST).
The model was previewed last month as part of a four-car collection of dream cars.
This addition to the lineup is designed to blend the best of the C-Class and E-Class, continuing the automaker's legacy of crafting sporty and elegant vehicles.
The two-door coupé stands out with its powerful presence and timeless elegance, embodying the brand’s design philosophy of Sensual Purity.
The CLE Coupé is a visual masterpiece from every angle, characterised by its sculptural design with flowing surfaces and seamless transitions.
A notable design element is the character line that runs from the headlight to the exterior mirror and from the rear light to the door handle, emphasising the coupé’s sporty proportions and robust wheel arches.
The front of the vehicle features a distinct shark nose profile, a flat bonnet, and Digital Light headlights with a projection function, presenting a unique and athletic appearance.
The coupé boasts a radiator grille in a new three-dimensional chrome look and a single louvre finished in high-gloss black, housing a Mercedes-Benz pattern.
The AMG line exterior is further accentuated by the Night Package, which includes black design elements such as exterior mirror housings and side window surrounds, 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, and a panoramic sliding sunroof.
Internally, the CLE Coupé has a driver-focused design, featuring a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display and an 11.9-inch central display in a portrait format.
The central console is crafted with a fabric-look finish and metallic effects, enhancing both visibility and the vehicle's modern vibe.
Front seats are in avant-garde sports design and climatised leather upholstery, alongside a multi-function sports steering wheel.
The new CLE Coupé introduces the third generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system.
This system offers more personalisation and interactive features, facilitated by touchless operation through the MBUX Interior Assistant, which recognises natural hand movements and active gestures.
The new CLE features a mild hybrid powertrain. A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill produces 258hp/400Nm, aided by a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid integrated starter generator (ISG) delivering 23hp/205Nm.
The CLE sprints from 0-100kph in 6.2s, and has a 250kph top speed.
The ISG ensures functions such as coasting, boost or recuperation and thus enables significant savings in consumption. Another advantage: the engine starts very quickly.
As a result, the start-stop function is almost imperceptible, as is the transition from coasting with the engine switched off to powerful propulsion with engine power. When idling, the intelligent interaction of the ISG with the combustion engine ensures outstanding smoothness.
The 9G-Tronic transmission was further developed for the adaptation of the ISG.
The electric motor, the power electronics and the transmission cooler have been moved into or onto the transmission.
The lines that were previously required are no longer required, which offers advantages in terms of installation space and weight.
The vehicle is equipped with advanced safety and assistance features, including the Driving Assistance Package Plus, which offers active distance assist, lane keeping assist, and steering assist.
Parking is simplified with the Memory Parking Assist and a 360° camera. For audiophiles, the Burmester 3D surround sound system provides an immersive listening experience with Dolby Atmos technology.
The CLE Coupé also includes enhancements such as the Keyless-Go Comfort Package, Hands-Free Access, and Thermatic automatic climate control, allowing separate temperature settings for driver and passenger.
