KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Italia will stop importing and distributing Maserati cars in Malaysia, as part of a group business realignment.
The company said it has issued notice to Maserati SpA of its intention to discontinue the importership and distributorship agreement for Maserati vehicles in Malaysia.
The notice was submitted in accordance with the contractual 180-day requirement under the agreement dated Jan 1, 2009.
Naza Italia reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring continuity and seamlessness throughout the 180-day period, consistent with the obligations set out in the agreement.
The company said it remains determined to uphold the professionalism, transparency and integrity that have long guided its operations.
Ending the Maserati distributorship is part of Naza Auto’s broader strategy to intensify its focus on core brands and emerging growth areas.
"This includes a significant expansion of Suzuki Cars Malaysia’s network, the new performance-luxury retail experience with Stars@Mercedes-Benz in Bangsar, strengthened customer service initiatives, investment in digital platforms, and active evaluation of new automotive brands, including EV (electric vehicle) mobility and regional opportunities in Asean," said the company.
