PUTRAJAYA: Effective from Jan 23, 2026, the printing of physical Malaysian Driving Licence cards will be allowed without the need to present any proof of overseas travel, at a printing fee of RM20 for Malaysian citizens and RM100 for non-Malaysian citizens.
The public may choose to apply for the printing of a physical Malaysian Driving Licence card at all JPJ and UTC counters nationwide, openly and without being restricted to the categories previously specified.
As a measure to reduce bureaucratic procedures, JPJ has been instructed to no longer require proof of overseas travel, such as flight tickets.
Target groups can obtain a physical Malaysian Driving Licence free of charge:
- Senior citizens aged 60 and above;
- Holders of Class A1 and Class A licences; and
- Holders of OKU cards registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
Drivers who choose the digital driving licence will continue to have free access to the digital licence, which can be renewed via the MyJPJ application without the need to visit any office.
In a statement, the Transport Ministry said, "MOT and JPJ (Road Transport Department) remain committed to continuously improving services for the public."
