However, from now until the end of the year, new bookings will receive a special launch rebate of RM3,000.

This brings the current price down to RM56,800 and RM69,800, respectively.

Colour options include Moonstone White, Marble Cream, Quartz Rose, Graphite Silver, and Slate Grey.

Meanwhile, there will be two interior choices available, starting with Alabaster White, which can only be had with the Premium variants in Marble Cream and Quartz Rose.

As for the interior colour of Flint Grey, this is only available in Moonstone White, Graphite Silver and Slate Grey.

For peace of mind, the e.MAS 5 comes with a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and is also accompanied by an eight-year or 160,000km coverage for the high-voltage battery and its components.

Additionally, a value of RM2,000 will be provided to those eligible under the company's Power Xchange programme upon deregistration of their non-roadworthy vehicle and must meet the criteria of it being 15-years or older, damaged beyond repair, or not able to meet inspection standards.

A Power Trade-in via Carsome is also available from now until Jan 31, 2026, which provides an exclusive trade-in rebate of up to RM1,000.

A five-year unlimited Internet Data worth RM1,800 will also be bundled in while buyers can opt for the company's Power Financing from Proton Commerce, which provides buyers with a five-year loan option at 1.98% interest worth RM1,700.

New owners will also be provided with a complimentary 7kW home charger worth RM1,500

With a 2,650mm wheelbase, the e.MAS 5 is 4,135mm in length, 1,805mm in width and 1,580mm in height.

The Prime variant has a kerb weight of 1,230kg (Premium - 1,305kg) and provides 375 litres of rear boot space that can be expanded to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded down, as well as an additional 70-litre frunk, located under the front hood.

Its 58kW (78hp) electric motor with 130Nm of torque is mounted on the rear axle for a rear-wheel-drive setup, and powered by a 30.12kWh CATL Lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery (with vehicle-to-load or V2L function) – allowing it to sprint from 0 to 50kph in 4.4 seconds.

The battery is able to accept a 6.6kW AC charger and a 53kW DC charger, bringing its State-of-Charge (SoC) from 10% to 100% in 4.3 hours (AC) to provide up to 225km (WLTP) of range.

Using a faster DC charger will take 21 minutes for the battery to go from 30% to 80% SoC.

The Prime rolls on 15-inch wheels with 205/65 series tyres that partially obscure the front ventilated and rear solid disc brakes, while the front MacPherson struts and rear multi-link suspension system remain relatively hidden.

The headlights use halogen bulbs for illumination that comes with follow-me home function and the power windows are equipped with an anti-pinch function.

Inside, the cabin comes with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette seats, a 20-litre glove box and a 28-litre rear under-seat storage compartment.

There's also keyless-entry with push-start button, a 14.6-inch touchscreen full-HD infotainment unit with English and Bahasa Malaysia voice command functionality, in-built navigation, integrated live charging map, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as a four-speaker sound system.

Also included is are Type-A and Type-C USB ports, rear cabin vents, and access to the Proton e.MAS app that provides information such as current vehicle status, a remote control function, schedule trip and scheduled charging, among others.

For safety, the e.MAS 5 lineup comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, anti-rolling programme, regenerative braking, auto-hold, hill-hold assist, hill descent control, cruise control, a reverse camera, and auto door locking when driving.

Further bolstering safety is the inclusion of advanced driver assist systems, which now include blind-spot detection, lane-change warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, and door opening warning.

Moving to the Premium means owners will be getting a larger 40.16kWh battery that can provide up to 325km (WLTP) of range, while sporting a dual-tone roof.

The battery will be able to accept up to 71kW of faster DC charging, although a slower 6.6kW AC charger will take almost six hours (5.9 hrs) to bring its SoC from 10% to 100%.

Power gets bumped up to a higher 85kW (114hp) with 150Nm to drop its 0 to 50kph sprint time to 3.9 seconds - while rolling on larger 16-inch wheels with 205/60 series tyres.

The headlights will now use LEDs for illumination and will come with an automatic function with high beam control before adding a powered tailgate.

The number of speakers will jump to six before another USB Type-A port gets added and the dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel gets wrapped in two-tone leatherette.

Its list of safety equipment now adds on a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.

“Through the Proton e.MAS brand, we are bringing clean technology within reach of every Malaysian, combining advanced innovation, trusted safety, and affordability to make EV ownership possible for everyone,” said Pro-Net chief executive officer Zhang Qiang.

“This milestone reflects our commitment to strengthening the local EV ecosystem and supporting Malaysia’s journey towards sustainable mobility and a net-zero future,” he added.
