TQ Wuling Bingo EV starts local assembly

KUALA LUMPUR: The TQ Wuling Bingo EV (electric vehicle) is now locally assembled at Tan Chong Group’s manufacturing facility in Segambut.

This milestone brings together SAIC-GM-Wuling’s (SGMW) global EV expertise with Tan Chong Group’s deep local manufacturing know-how.

As part of the initial ramp-up phase, TQ Wuling is adopting a phased production approach, with the flexibility to scale up output in line with market demand.

The Bingo EV offers six airbags alongside the integration of 1,500 MPa ultra-high-tensile steel within its body structure.

This reinforced construction not only enhances structural rigidity but is also designed to absorb impact effectively, providing improved protection for occupants.

It is offered in two variants, the Bingo Pro (at RM67,800) and Max (at RM72,800).

TQ Wuling is offering Bingo’s Fabulous Five Perks, which include a RM5,000 cash rebate.

This brings on-the-road prices to RM62,800 (for Bingo Pro) and RM67,800 (for Bingo Max).

The first 500 customers who place an order will enjoy benefits worth up to RM12,000 under the Bingo’s Fabulous Five Perks offer, comprising the RM5,000 cash rebate, comprehensive battery and drive motor warranties, low monthly instalments from RM625, a free 7kW home EV charger, portable 3-pin EV charger and TQ premium solar tinting package, and 17 comprehensive insurance benefits with special EV coverage.

Customers can place their bookings for the TQ Wuling Bingo EV with a booking fee of just RM50 via the tqwuling.my website, at any TQ Wuling showroom or during any TQ Wuling roadshow.

The Bingo Pro offers up to 333km (CLTC) and the Bingo Max offers up to 410km (CLTC) on a single charge.

The Bingo EV combines a compact footprint with a simple, retro-inspired design, modern interior appointments and thoughtful practicality, including 15 interior storage compartments and a flexible boot space of up to 1,240 litres with rear seats folded.

A key interior highlight is the “floating-island” style centre console and dashboard layout, which houses dual 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment.

The Bingo is available in Milky White, Neon Blue and Lavender Purple, all paired with a contrasting black roof.

“The commencement of local assembly of the TQ Wuling Bingo EV reflects our long-term investment and confidence in Malaysia as a key market and production base,” said TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd head of business Wan Wei Sun.

The Bingo EV is fitted with Wuling’s proprietary Magic EV battery which carries an IP68 rating, providing comprehensive protection against dust ingress and water immersion.

It comes with an eight-year/120,000km EV battery warranty, eight-year/160,000km drive motor warranty and five-year/150,000km vehicle warranty against manufacturing defects (whichever is first).

There are six dedicated TQ Wuling showrooms in Peninsular Malaysia, and seven after-sales centres through Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd’s established service network.
