Full stocks for Honda Malaysia airbag inflator recall

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia is no longer facing a parts shortage for the Takata driver front airbag inflator.

In a statement, the company urged affected Honda car owners to make appointments at Honda authorised dealers, Service Central Hubs, or visit Mobile Hubs to have their airbag inflators replaced.

"Parts availability for the Takata driver front airbag inflator is at 100 per cent," said Honda Malaysia.

As at August 17, 2016, Honda Malaysia has completed 45 per cent replacement of the recalled Takata airbag inflators, totalling 175,000 units of airbag inflators.

Affected car owners can call toll free 1-800-88-2020 to make an appointment with the Service Central Hubs which are located at: No 401, Jalan Dato’ Keramat, Georgetown, Penang (next to SMJK Convent Datuk Keramat School) and Lot 15 Jalan 13/6, Section 13, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (next to Columbia Asia Hospital) and 99 & 99A-C, Jalan Tampoi, Johor Bahru, Johor (Oriental Assemblers Sdn Bhd).

These temporary Service Central Hubs will be open until September 30, 2016.

The hubs open 7 days a week except public holidays, from 8am to 7pm.

There are also 24 Mobile Hubs which are set up at 21 selected Petron service stations and three Honda Family Road Trip locations.

These Mobile Hubs will close on September 25, 2016.

The Mobile Hubs are open from 8am to 7pm on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at three different locations.
