SHAH ALAM: Another recall in the car industry, and this time it's for the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire.
Distributor UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd said the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the electric parking brake system has to be updated on some units of both models. The fix takes one hour.
The company said around 1,900 units of the two models produced from April 2016 to Feb 2018 have to be recalled for a safety inspection.
UMW Toyota Motor said it will inform affected vehicle owners to update the ECU programming, which is free.
