2017 Tokyo Motor Show: Subaru Viziv Performance Concept introduced

By CARSIFU | 27 October 2017

TOKYO: The Subaru Viziv Performance Concept made its world debut at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show.

Using the first sports sedan body of the Viziv concept series, the Subaru Viziv Performance Concept has a Symmetrical AWD (all wheel drive) layout powered by a boxer engine honed over more than five decades of development.

Viziv is a coined word from the phrase “Vision for Innovation.”

The sports sedan concept is sized (overall length × width × height): 4,630 × 1,950 × 1,430 mm with a wheelbase of 2,730mm. It is a 5-seater, and runs on tyres sized 245/40 R20.

The Viziv Performance Concept design draws on previous models representing the Subaru driving experience: the Legacy, which defined Subaru as a drivers’ car, the Impreza, which took the World Rally Championship by storm, and the WRX, which still dominates motor racing around the world.

It has a rigid, forward-thrusting body with low centre of gravity, and highlights include the dynamic flare of the fenders, and the use of carbon fibre parts in the bumpers, fenders and roof.
