KUALA LUMPUR: A commercial vehicle exhibition will be held from May 14 to 16 in Seri Kembangan, with the organiser promising a strong line-up of exhibitors and "exciting fringe programmes".

The Malaysia International Bus, Truck and Components Expo, which bills itself as the region's largest such exhibition, will be held at the Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre at the Mines Resort City in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

According to Asian Trucker magazine and expo organiser, over 70 local and multinational brands are expected at the show that will take up 8,000 sq m of floor space. Several major brands will also launch new products at the show.

“We are definitely seeing a more international flavour in the second expo. This year, we have exhibitors coming from Canada, Italy, Germany and Thailand," said magazine editor Stefan Pertz.

One of the highlights is a Scania driver contest that will take place during the three days of the expo. Open to the public, drivers with valid driving licences could test their driving skills in a truck obstacle course to win prizes.

The competition is run by Scania Malaysia and supported by GiiB, Shell Malaysia and ZF.

Other activities include an Asian Trucker Networking Night on the second day for industry players.

To facilitate visits to the Seri Kembangan venue, the Sendok Group will be providing free shuttle buses for those coming from Kapar and the Kuala Lumpur city centre (see below)
