KUALA LUMPUR: Following the high demand for Euro5 grade diesel launched by BHPetrol in the Klang Valley Thursday, the company has fast-tracked the availability of the ultra-clean diesel grade to two more stations on Friday.

BHPetrol stations near the Subang airport road and Jalan Genting Klang are now offering Infiniti Euro5 diesel.

Euro5 was launched at the BHPetrol’s station along the Sungai Besi-Seremban toll road Thursday.

The company plans to have at least 10 stations in the Klang Valley offering Infiniti Euro 5 by the end of the month.
BHPetrol is the first company in Malaysia to offer Euro5 grade diesel in Johor last November.

It also became the first to offer Euro5 grade in the Klang Valley Thursday.

Priced at RM2.05 per litre, which is 10 sen higher compared with Euro2M grade diesel, the Infiniti Euro5 diesel results in better improved air quality due to its significantly lower sulphur content.

Euro5 diesel has only 10ppm (parts per million) of sulphur content compared with 500ppm for the Euro2M grade.

“We have plans to launch Euro5 grade diesel in other parts of the West Coast in the near future. Perhaps, Negri Sembilan and Malacca are next,” said BHPetrol managing director Tan Kim Thiam.

BHPetrol retail and sales director James Khoo said dynamometer tests showed that vehicles using Euro 5 instead of Euro 2M diesel have improved performance.

“For example, based on our tests, the 2.5-litre Nissan Navara pick-up showed higher 14hp and 38Nm of torque, while the BMW 520d had an extra 4hp and 15Nm of torque,” he said.
