LAS VEGAS: The refreshed Mercedes-Benz E-Class is due out at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

But the Stuttgart luxury car maker couldn't wait to tell even more about the updated W213 E-Class.

YouTube channel fünfkommasechs, a platform for Mercedes-Benz fans, was given access to the car and cut a video explaining some of the changes made to the mid-size sedan.

The video — a long one at over 24 mins — shows the camouflaged prototype doing its rounds outside Las Vegas.  Published on Jan 23, it was picked up by Mercedes-Benz and reposted on its channel on Feb 23, it has since attracted over 85,000 views as of today (212,762 views on fünfkommasechs).

The video was hosted by Marc Christiansen from fünfkommasechs. On hand to explain some of the technical details and changes was Mercedes E-Class chief engineer Michael Kelz.

Kelz glossed over some of the changes that included a new steering wheel as well as gesture and voice controls that can tell driver and front passenger apart.

The car also gets an upgraded automatic parking system that is much quicker and a more streamlined underbody to reduce drag further.

The line-up will receive a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that's equipped with an integrated starter generator and 48-volt technology.
