LOS ANGELES: Honda's luxury mark Acura will unveil its Precision Concept design at the 2016 Detroit motor show in January.

The Precision name recalls a 1986 slogan that welcomed Acura's launch 30 years beforehand.

Since then the brand has expanded to offer five distinct models its luxury flagship, the RLX sedan, as well as the TLF performance sedan, RDX crossover SUV, and seven-seater MDX, with a new NSX supercar set for Spring 2016.

The Precision Concept's role in all this is to "serve as the inspiration for the styling and proportion of the next-generation of Acura vehicles, especially for our sedans," said global creative director Dave Marek.

A Jan 12 event will see the Precision Concept unveiled at the North American International Motor Show in Detroit.

Acura offers a full line of performance-luxury vehicles through a network of 270 US dealers. The Acura lineup features five models – the RLX luxury flagship sedan, the TLX performance luxury sedan, the ILX sport sedan, the 5-passenger RDX luxury crossover SUV, and the seven-passenger Acura MDX.
