All-new Kia Carnival and Mazda BT-50 on roadshow at Setia Alam Convention Centre Dec 3-5

SHAH ALAM: Bermaz Auto will be holding a showcase of the latest all-new Kia Carnival and the Mazda BT-50 at the Setia Alam Convention Centre here from Dec 3 to 5.

Kia Carnival

The fourth generation of Kia's flagship multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has been designed to appeal to progressive young families with a leading combination of innovation, flexibility, and style.

The new 11-seater Carnival features a shorter front overhang, with the base of the A-pillar moved backwards to create a longer hood.

Its increased wheelbase also contributes to greater space throughout the cabin, while giving the vehicle a longer, slightly more athletic silhouette.

The new model features an unique ‘island roof’ appearance design, with blacked-out A- and B-pillars supporting the body-colored roof.

An eye-catching new C-pillar signature design, inspired by that of the new Kia Sorento.

The chrome fin, which wraps beneath the tapered rear windows and extends towards the tailgate, is finished with a subtle diamond pattern that is also reflected throughout the inside of the car.

Fully-imported from South Korea, the Carnival features a new ‘tiger face’ which extends across the width of the vehicle and integrates with the LED headlamps.

The high-beam lamps are integrated into the corner of the tiger-nose grille, with the low-beam lamps sitting separately, at the outer edges of the front of the car.

Inside, the Carnival gets a sleek design elements and quality materials that come together to create a refined and sophisticated interior space.

A chrome garnish runs the length of the dash to create a sense of space and openness in the forward cabin while integrated slim metal air vents add a modern touch.

Features include Smart Power Sliding doors and Smart Power Liftgate, Smart Key with one-button open/close functionality for rear sliding doors and liftgate.

Other standard interior features include a class leading 12.3-inch High-resolution LCD Touchscreen Infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Wireless smartphone charging, multi-Bluetooth connectivity and up to seven USB ports are also available.

The Carnival also gets the all-new 3rd generation “N3” platform that is lighter, stronger and quieter.

Its increased usage of hot-stamped parts and ultra-high-strength steel results higher tensile strength and torsional stiffness for better driving dynamics.

Road, wind, and engine noises are also reduced with greater application of sound absorbing and insulating materials while better aerodynamics to wheels, front bumper and wing mirrors help to achieve better fuel economy.

Standard safety equipment includes seven SRS Airbags (Front Driver & Passenger, Driver Knee, Side and Curtain), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Multi-Collision Brake Control (MCB), ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor Points and Top Tethers as well as Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).

Meanwhile, the Carnival also gets advanced safety features such as Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Powering the MPV is a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine with 199hp and 440Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with an electronic shifter.

The colour line-up includes Astra Blue, Silky Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, Panthera Metal and Flare Red.

The vehicle is now officially open for booking with the selling price to be announced later.

The Carnival comes with a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.

Mazda BT-50

Rebulit from the ground up, the latest BT-50 pick-up truck features Mazda’s Kodo design language and gets a tough-looking exterior while offering ride comfort, rugged capability and class-leading safety technology.

Fully imported from Thailand, the all-new BT-50 is available in options of 1.9-litre and 3.0-litre turbo diesel engines mated an intelligent six-speed automatic transmission.

The BT-50 1.9L automatic double cab (High) is priced at RM124,179 and the BT-50 3.0L automatic double cab (High Plus) comes at RM143,218.

The pick-up truck gets a spacious interior with fine stitching on the dashboard, instrument panel hood and kneepads to add a touch of quality.

Supportive seats ensure comfort across any terrain, while a telescopic steering column makes light work of finding the perfect driving position.

The rear doors are designed with wide openings and ample space for the feet and knees to pass through.

A large touchscreen infotainment system offers comprehensive functionality, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The instrument cluster comes with two analogue dials flanking a 4.2-inch multi-information display.

For rear passengers, there are an USB charging port, rear air ducts and grip assist handles.

The load-bay has ample room and can handle payloads well up to one tonne.

Depending on the variant, safety technologies include seven SRS airbags (Driver, Passenger, Knee (driver), Curtain and Side), Isofix points and automatic door lock.
