SHAH ALAM: Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd will be sponsoring the ASEAN Skills Competition (ASC) 2016 with six Mazda3 cars.
Four Mazda3 cars will be used in ASC’s nationwide awareness campaign road show and two units will be used in the competition to assess the skills and aptitude of the finalists.
Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berjaya Auto Bhd, is the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia.
The ASC will be held on September 23 till 28, 2016 in Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang.
Participants come from countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The competition is held every two years and member countries take turns to host.
Bermaz has always been an advocate of youth’s skills development, especially in meeting the growing demands of the motoring industry.
The Mazda Apprenticeship Program (MAP), an automotive skills training program for school leavers with SPM/SPV, was set up in 2010.
Graduates from the MAP are awarded with the Malaysia Skill Certificate (Level 3, K-Worker from Department of Skills Development), Diploma in the Institute of Motor Industry Awards Limited (IMIAL-UK) and Mazda Master Level F.
Selected candidates are entitled to full scholarships by Bermaz Motor.
Graduates are employed by Bermaz as technicians in Mazda’s after-sales service centres.
