According to a media report on Thursday, the police have arrested the suspect who has been alleged to be selling Perodua cars on a popular e-commerce site. Victims have been cheated of tens of thousands of ringgit without taking delivery of the cars, said the report.
Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said the scam involved the sale of new Perodua vehicles as well as Pre-Owned Vehicles (POV).

Perodua and the victims have since lodged police reports.
Dr Zahari advised potential customers to make payments only to Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd or its authorised dealers and never to individual accounts. All customers should insist on original receipts when making any payment, he added.
At present, the only authorised Perodua Certified POV dealership is at Perodua Kuala Lumpur located at Lot 18, Seksyen 86, Jalan Pahang here. The outlet, opened since last October, also sells new cars.
It offers used Perodua cars of up to seven years old. All vehicles have undergone a 165-point check and have been refurbished by Perodua. The cars come with up to 18 months’ extended warranty for the engine and transmission.
