PETALING JAYA: BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel, marketed by Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, continues to become more widely available in Malaysia with 100 stations in Peninsular Malaysia now selling the advanced fuel which costs only 10 sen more per litre than the regular Euro 2M diesel.

“BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel is the first ultra clean fuel for diesel vehicles in Malaysia with an extremely low sulphur content of only 10ppm (parts per million), compared to 500ppm for Euro2M. With less sulphur and an advanced formulation, BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel enables modern diesel engines to run at their best while also enhancing the efficiency of older diesel engines,” said BHPetrol retail director James Khoo.

He said that the effectiveness of the higher quality diesel was confirmed by feedback received from customers who say that they feel the difference when using BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel – and they would not want to go back to using the poorer grade.

Being the first oil and gas company to introduce Euro5 Diesel in Malaysia in Johor in November 2014, and subsequently made available in the Klang Valley in August last year, BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel is now available in Malacca, Perak, Penang, Kedah and Pahang too.

“We’re adding more stations all the time and we have already reached the 100 mark in mid of July with the commencement of sales at BHPetrol Mukim Kuantan located on the way to Kuantan airport,” said James.

Besides its very low sulphur content, BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel also has a superior additive package from a leading specialist in the field that help to keep the engine clean, maintaining efficiency and also reduce fuel-related problems in the long-term.

The advanced German additives have been proven to provide not just a good balance of performance and fuel economy but also enable better mileage. This is achieved through various factors such as reduction of internal friction and more effective cleansing and prevention of deposit formation.

Although the current exhaust emission regulations for diesel vehicles in Malaysia do not specify the Euro 5 standard, the availability of the fuel is encouraging the car companies to offer the latest diesel models which have more advanced and more environment-friendly engines.

Such engines require ultra-clean fuel – like BHPetrol Euro 5 Diesel – in order to run without problems.
