Hoelzl will head BMW's Malaysian operations from March 1.
CYBERJAYA: Come March 1, Harald Hoelzl.will start his posting as BMW Group Malaysia managing director and CEO.
He will take over from Han Sang Yun who will become the new president of BMW Group Korea.
Hoelzl began his career with the BMW Group in 2002 and has served in various functions in the sales, marketing, dealer development and IT departments.
He was appointed marketing head at BMW Group Central South Eastern Europe in 2011 before leading the BMW Group’s operations in the Czech Republic.
In his time in Malaysia, Han led BMW to its best-ever performance growth in 2017. He was also credited with growing the brand's portfolio of plug-in hybrids to 55% of its total volume delivery in the country.
