PARIS: Bugatti will soon start production of the new Chiron Pur Sport as the model goes through final testing in Italy.

And according to its test driver, the hyper car is shaping up to be an agile ride with "super direct feedback" to make driving on public roads easier.

Based on the Chiron, the €3mil (RM14.8mil) Pur Sport will be the most capable track car Bugatti has ever created.

Only 60 units will be made. Its W16 engine produces nearly 1,500bhp, and it will feature new magnesium wheels and improved acceleration, with 0-100kph done in a blistering 2.1 seconds.

Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace had been busy tweaking the driving dynamics of the car at Italy's Nardò Technical Centre.

And that means driving it hard. At one point, Wallace was spotted sending all four wheels of the hypercar airborne as he pushed it to the limit.

Speaking after completing his first laps, Wallace said: “The Chiron Pur Sport is extremely agile for driving on public roads, but it still offers enough comfort. The engineers have set up the running gear perfectly. Firm and direct, but not too hard.

"The shorter-ratio gearbox results in even more brutal acceleration out of the bends. The lateral acceleration potential is incredible."

This was Wallace's first time on the Nardo track and it left him with a good impression

"I like the proving ground very much, above all the handling track with its many varied corners.

“The fast right-left-right combinations on the demanding 6.2-kilometre long track are great fun in the Chiron Pur Sport."
