Chill out with Moto Guzzi and Zero Style in Gasket Alley

Moto Guzzi is back in Malaysia with renewed enthusiasm under Didi Resources, the official sole distributor.

Didi Resources chairman Rewi Hamid Bugo said he would like to give an assurance that the brand is here to stay.

“Our large investments in Moto Guzzi is a testament to Didi Resources’ commitment to make Guzzi as the preferred brand in Malaysia.

“We are working very hard to ensure that we only offer the best after sales service together with value added service,” he told CarSifu recently.

Moto Guzzi is owned by the Piaggio Group, the largest European manufacturer of two-wheeled motor vehicles.

Its models that are available locally are V7 III Stone, V7 III Racer, and V9 Roamer.

And the latest addition is the limited edition V7 Anniversary model.

The local distributor has also placed priority in making the availability of spare parts.

“The Moto Guzzi experience is very important to us. We want an emotional experience and definitely not a transactional experience with our Guzzi owners.

“Each of the Guzzi owners are our brand ambassadors and they are very important to us,” said Rewi.

In addition to Moto Guzzi, Didi Resources is also the local sole distributor of Japan-based Zero Engineering motorcycles.

Dubbed “The Original Samurai Chopper,” the Zero Style, founded by famed custom bike-builder Shinya Kimura from Okazaki, Japan, features vintage, old school style design with rigid frames.

Rewi said there is a big vacuum in the premium customised motorcycle and Zero Engineering’s products would fill the gap.

Moto Guzzi and Zero Engineering showrooms are in Gasket Alley, Section 13 in Petaling Jaya.

Gasket Alley makes up about 30,000sq ft with a retro-inspired design meets minimalist theme.

Gasket Alley has a café and bar, motorcycle showrooms (Moto Guzzi and Zero Engineering) and service centres, a customisation shop, retro-inspired modern motorcycle accessories and apparels boutique and an event venue which can accommodate 500 people.

The brains behind Gasket Alley, Kenneth Koay, said the unique place was envisioned as a venue where retro motorcycle lovers (and anything to do with motorcycle) can meet and exchange ideas or “just chill.”

Koay proudly states no venue of such theme and idea is available in South East Asia except in Malaysia.

The dynamic combination of Rewi and Kenneth promises a fresh shake-up to the Malaysian motorcycle lifestyle and scene.

And the best part is, they have a long list of surprises which I am not allowed to state here now.

Believe me, 2017 is going to be a memorable year for motorcycle enthusiasts in Malaysia.
