PETALING JAYA: This is the third-generation Porsche Panamera and if it still looks like the old one, you would be right.
The latest generations sports an incremental change in its appearance and much of the improvements are under the skin.
With extended standard equipment compared to its predecessor, the G3 Panamera is now available in Malaysia, priced from RM1.3 million.
It gets a more pronounced sporty character through enhanced driving systems and a modernised design.
It features advanced technology like the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and a revamped 2.9-litre V6 turbo engine, which now produces 353hp, a noticeable increase from its predecessor.
This upgrade allows the Panamera to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 5.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 272kph.
The Panamera's design integrates the user’s digital ecosystem more fluidly into the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, providing innovative interaction methods with the vehicle.
Its updated aesthetic combines technical sophistication with dynamic elegance, preserving the model’s iconic proportions while introducing a fresh appeal.
The car measures 5,052 mm in length, 1,937 mm wide, and 1,423 mm high, with new design features like an additional air intake and a redesigned window line that reinforces its sedan character.
Handling improvements include a dual-chamber two-valve air suspension with an option for rear-axle steering, enhancing comfort and driving dynamics.
The Panamera also introduces an electric brake booster and larger front brake discs, improving pedal feel and braking precision.
The interior offers a luxurious yet sport-oriented environment, with a new driver-centred control concept that balances digital and analogue elements to keep essential controls within easy reach, minimizing driver distraction.
Additionally, Porsche has enriched the Panamera with a suite of driver assistance systems and Matrix LED headlights, with an optional high-resolution HD Matrix LED lighting system that enhances visibility.
The vehicle is also equipped with an active speed assistant that interacts with traffic sign recognition to ensure adherence to speed limits.
