SUBANG JAYA: Proton car owners whose vehicle warranty is expiring during the movement control order (MCO) period need not worry.

Proton said today warranties expiring during the MCO period will be extended by 1,000km or 30 days following the final day of
the MCO, whichever comes first.

Although all its service outlets are closed during the MCO period, warranties would remain valid even if the vehicle misses its recommended service period, said Proton.

Customers are advised to service their vehicle within 30 days of the end of the MCO period to keep their warranties active, it said.

They should contact a Proton service outlet to book an appointment within 15 days of the end of the MCO period, it added.

The local Nissan distributor has announced a warranty extension as well while the global headquarters of Hyundai has declared a similar intent for its cars sold worldwide.
